Passover marks the moment when God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, sparing them through the blood of the lamb. It is a powerful reminder of redemption, protection, and deliverance.
Immediately following Passover is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which carries deep spiritual significance.
In Scripture, leaven (yeast) often represents sin, corruption, and influence. During this feast, God instructed His people to remove all leaven from their homes and eat bread made without it.
Unleavened bread represents:
Purity – removing sin and anything that contaminates
Separation – being set apart for God
Urgency – Israel left Egypt quickly, without time for bread to rise
Sincerity and truth – a life lived without hidden compromise
This feast is not just about bread it is about heart posture.
It reminds us that as God delivers us, He also calls us to cleanse our lives, removing anything that would hinder our next assignment.
Just as leaven spreads quietly through dough, unchecked sin can spread in our lives. But through Christ, our Passover Lamb, we are called to live unleavened pure, intentional, and aligned with God’s will.
Today we know that Jesus is our Passover Lamb His sacrifice has already provided redemption, freedom, and victory for us. However, as an act of obedience and intentional remembrance, we still honor the principle of removing the “leaven” from our lives anything that would contaminate our walk with God.
So this is not just a historical observance this is a present-day call to examine our hearts, remove what doesn’t belong, and walk in the fullness of who God has called us to be.
